Sustainability
TENETWORKS is committed to responsible design, long-term thinking, and minimizing environmental impact through how we operate and what we build.
Operating model
As a digital-first studio, we focus on reducing impact where we have direct control — efficiency, durability, and long-term usability. We avoid unnecessary complexity and short-lived digital waste.
Our sustainability commitments span three pillars aligned with globally recognised Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles:
Digital sustainability
2.1 Remote-First Operational Model as Environmental Asset
TENETWORKS operates without physical offices, eliminating the carbon emissions associated with maintaining commercial premises, commuting, business travel for day-to-day operations, and physical resource consumption at scale.
2.2 Cloud Infrastructure and Hosting
- TENETWORKS selects cloud infrastructure and hosting providers with reference to their environmental commitments, including published renewable energy usage, carbon neutrality programmes, and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) metrics.
- Where materially equivalent alternatives exist, TENETWORKS preferentially selects providers operating data centres powered by renewable energy sources or committed to verified carbon offset programmes.
- TENETWORKS actively avoids unnecessary duplication of hosted environments, redundant data storage, and inefficient infrastructure configurations that generate avoidable energy consumption.
2.3 Digital Efficiency and Sustainable Design
- TENETWORKS applies principles of sustainable web design in the development of its own Website and, where within scope, in Deliverables produced for Clients, including optimised asset sizes, efficient code, reduced unnecessary network requests, and appropriate caching strategies.
- TENETWORKS advocates for digital products that are performant, lightweight, and long-lasting, resisting practices of planned digital obsolescence.
- Where Clients request hosting or deployment support, TENETWORKS provides guidance on environmentally preferable infrastructure choices.
2.4 AI Compute Responsibility
- TENETWORKS acknowledges that AI inference and training operations carry a material energy footprint. Accordingly, TENETWORKS uses AI tools proportionately and purposefully, avoiding unnecessary or speculative AI compute usage.
- Where multiple AI tools offer equivalent capabilities, TENETWORKS gives consideration to providers with published commitments to energy-efficient model architectures or green data centre operations.
- TENETWORKS does not conduct large-scale AI model training as part of its core business and therefore avoids the highest-energy-intensity AI operations.
2.5 Hardware and Device Lifecycle
- TENETWORKS encourages distributed team members to extend the useful life of computing hardware through maintenance, upgrading, and responsible disposal through certified e-waste channels.
- Where hardware procurement is necessary, preference is given to manufacturers with recognised environmental and sustainability commitments.

3.1 Remote-First Equity
TENETWORKS's remote-first operating model enables access to professional opportunity across geographic, national, and socioeconomic boundaries, actively distributing economic opportunity more broadly than traditional location-dependent hiring models permit.
- TENETWORKS compensates all engaged personnel at rates reflecting the value of their contribution, with awareness of local cost-of-living contexts and applicable minimum standards.
- TENETWORKS does not apply systematically lower compensation based solely on a contractor's geographic location where comparable skills and contributions are delivered.
3.2 Inclusive Design Practice
- TENETWORKS incorporates inclusive design principles into its creative practice, designing digital products usable and accessible across diverse user populations, ability levels, device types, and connectivity conditions.
- TENETWORKS considers the needs of global audiences — including users in lower-bandwidth environments, users of non-dominant languages, and users with assistive technology requirements — as a standard element of quality design practice.
3.4 Responsible Client Engagement
TENETWORKS reserves the right to decline engagements from Clients whose activities are materially harmful to environmental sustainability, human rights, or social equity, including entities engaged in illegal deforestation, fossil fuel extraction without credible transition commitments, arms manufacturing targeting civilian populations, or activities subject to international sanctions.
Partners & clients
We favor vendors who demonstrate responsible sustainability practices. While we do not control client deployment, we may decline projects that fundamentally conflict with environmental values.
- Anti-Corruption and Bribery: TENETWORKS maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery, corruption, and facilitation payments in any jurisdiction. All personnel and contractors are required to conduct business with integrity and in compliance with applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws.
- Tax Compliance: TENETWORKS is committed to full compliance with applicable tax obligations across all jurisdictions in which it operates, including accurate reporting of taxable activities and correct application of VAT/GST where applicable.
- Responsible Supply Chain: Vendor and subcontractor selections are made with consideration for the sustainability, ethical conduct, and compliance posture of the selected provider, not solely on the basis of cost.
- Conflict of Interest Management: TENETWORKS maintains internal procedures for identifying, disclosing, and managing conflicts of interest in procurement, personnel engagement, and Client relationships.
- Whistleblower Protection: Individuals who report genuine sustainability or governance concerns to TENETWORKS in good faith are protected from retaliation to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Compliance & governance
TENETWORKS complies with applicable environmental laws and regularly reviews practices as standards evolve. Updates to this policy are reflected here on a periodic basis.
- Cloud and infrastructure vendors are evaluated with reference to published renewable energy commitments, carbon neutrality targets, and verified environmental certifications.
- SaaS and tooling vendors are assessed for data privacy compliance, security posture, and publicly available sustainability commitments.
- Subcontractors and freelancers engaged for project delivery are selected on merit and are subject to TENETWORKS's standard contractual requirements.
- TENETWORKS avoids sustained engagement with vendors subject to credible, documented evidence of serious human rights violations, environmental regulatory breaches, or financial crime.
Transparency & Reporting
TENETWORKS is committed to honest, accurate, and non-misleading communication regarding its sustainability practices and commitments. TENETWORKS does not make sustainability claims that are unverified, exaggerated, or designed to mislead Clients, personnel, or the public.
- This Sustainability Policy is reviewed and updated at minimum annually, with material changes communicated through the Website.
- TENETWORKS will, where applicable, expand its sustainability reporting in response to evolving regulatory requirements, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and equivalent applicable frameworks.
- TENETWORKS acknowledges the limitations of its current sustainability measurement capabilities as a remote-first distributed studio and commits to progressively improving its ability to measure, report, and reduce its environmental impact over time.

Long-Term Sustainability Growth
TENETWORKS is committed to building a studio that is sustainable not only in environmental terms, but in its commercial, operational, and human dimensions. Long-term sustainability for TENETWORKS means:
- Building enduring, trust-based relationships with Clients, contractors, and partners that generate sustained value over time.
- Developing and maintaining the capabilities, tools, and practices necessary to remain at the leading edge of responsible, high-quality digital design and technology delivery.
- Operating with financial discipline and transparency, ensuring that TENETWORKS's commercial health supports its ability to fulfil its obligations to personnel, Clients, and community over the long term.
- Continuously evaluating and improving the environmental, social, and governance dimensions of our operations in response to evolving knowledge, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations.
